Orangetheory Fitness
A Curated Gem
When I went through a significant life transition in September 2018, I found myself searching for answers.
What was my life going to look like outside of work?
How could I build meaningful social connections?
Was there a place where I could give myself what I needed and become a better counselor?
Could I truly model what I encourage others to do?
For me, many of those answers came together through Orangetheory Fitness.
What began as a workout became something much bigger.
It became a place where I learned to trust my body, appreciate what it could do, challenge it when it needed to be challenged, and become more mindful of how I cared for myself both inside and outside the studio.
It also reminded me that caring for ourselves isn't something we squeeze into the margins of life. It's something we intentionally make room for.
The coaches, staff, and community are the reason Orangetheory became my very first Curated Gem. They have quietly become part of my own story.
Finding a place where you can connect with others, quiet anxiety, create balance, develop inner strength, and experience genuine joy is something I hope everyone finds in their own way.
For me, that place happens to be Orangetheory.
One of the things I appreciate most is that Orangetheory has studios across the globe. Classes often begin as early as 5:00 AM (that's my jam 😊) and continue throughout the day into the evening. Membership options are flexible, making it easier to find something that fits your schedule and helps you develop systems that support the goals you're working toward.
That last part matters.
As both a counselor and a member, I've learned that lasting change rarely comes from motivation alone. It grows from creating sustainable systems, showing up consistently, and allowing those small choices to build upon one another over time.
One thing I've learned since walking through those doors in 2018 is this:
Change happens.
Sometimes it's obvious.
Sometimes it's so gradual that it's not even noticeable until you pause and look back.
Sound familiar?
Maybe that's why Orangetheory became my first Curated Gem.
Not simply because it's a place to work out.
Because it became a place where I learned to care for myself more intentionally, trust the process of growth, and discover that tiny changes practiced consistently can quietly reshape a life.
Whether your version of wellness is Orangetheory, walking through your neighborhood, practicing yoga, swimming, dancing, gardening, or something entirely different, I hope you find a place that encourages you to keep showing up for yourself.
You deserve that.
